Niagara Falls State Park
When the weather is getting warmer, travel to Niagara Falls would be great idea. Niagara Falls is famous and beautiful. There are two side of the falls that you could plan your visit. Last summer I went on American's side which closed to American Falls, a smaller falls and Horseshoe falls.
Niagara Falls in America was built many tourist areas and activities. If you would stay there longer than one and a half day it would be better to buy bundle activities around the falls called Discovery Pass. Niagara Falls state park offers major attractions. There are 3 parking area $10, credit card machine for parking all day. All activities closed to the falls are really great on a hot sunny day. Keep some water in the car, a light stuff to carry and comfortable shoes would be a good idea. After you got tickets, followed the line and it was not too long to wait. They were really professional handle mass tourists likes a Disney's resort.
Cave of the Winds $7 -I recommend you to do this activity first because they would give you a appropriated flip flop shoes to walk in the falls. It was fun likes walking at water festival in Thailand. The water cascading down from the cliff over hundred foot above. On a sunny day, there are many rainbow. There is many water, so prepare yourself to get soaked. You could stay down the falls as long as you want to. But the trail would force you to walk one way, so the ending of the steps would reach you to go back anyway.
Maid of the Mist $18.25- If you could see a sunshine at the falls, I would highly recommend to ride it once. It was a incredible activity to be closed to the falls and see many many many rainbows likes heaven. On this tour there are observation deck which you would be able to see both American Falls and Horseshoe Falls, also the Rainbow Bridge and steps walking beside the falls. I might be wrong, but on Canada side the boat tour would be only riding no other trials. On the boat it would have enough space for everyone. When the boat got to under the Horseshoe Falls it would rotate so you would see how enormous of the Niagara. I tell you now nothing likes it! I could ride this boat again and again. Now, I know why this tour has been so famous over years.
At Niagara Falls State Park offer pedestrian walkway through the park with many scenic points to see the falls. Also, you could buy a ticket to get on trolley around the park with a knowledge guide which would take about 30 minutes with 6 stops to explore all the attractions. I saw there was a big area of the park provided free Wifi.
Place to stay. I did online reserved campsite at Four Mile Creek State Park, NY for $24 per night. The campsite was clean and there was a beach to get into the lake. There were many people who love hiking or canoeing to see water birds around the area. Their showers and restrooms were also really cleaned. If you do not have a tent, there were 2 yurts with 6 bulk beds, a refrigerator and a microwave for $75.50 a night. An exit before campsite there was a little town name, Youngstown which I could get grocery for my camping. I also came to this town for breakfast before getting back to the falls on the next day. Four Mile Creek State Park got a beautiful sunset on lake Ontario.
In the morning after breakfast I stopped by Old Fort Niagara located near Youngstown, NY. $12 admission there is a AAA discount open 9am - 5pm. I love this place. All buildings were so beautiful and there were the demonstrate protected the interests of New France in North America. I recommended to come visited on the early of the day before the temperature getting too hot. Walked into this place made me feels like Game of Throne Series. Most of the building you could walk into and see how the army living when this fort operated. On the way out do not miss one of the first American flag exhibits in the museum.
This was my one and a half day at Niagara Falls...until next time.
